Our process
How we take a project from problem to production
This is how Forward Deployed Engineering works at Tascbar. Every project goes through the same five stages. You make the important decisions with us along the way, and we handle the execution. At each stage you know where things stand and who is accountable.

Understand
We start by learning about your business, your users and what you’re trying to achieve.
We also look at the constraints you’re working within, such as budget, timing and any systems the product has to work with.
Before anyone talks about features, we want to understand the problem and what a good outcome looks like for you. You have these conversations with the engineers who will build the product, so the context stays with the people doing the work. It starts with a discovery call.
Included in this phase
- Discovery call
- Requirements workshop
- Business goals
- Constraints

Define
Next we work out what needs to be built. Together we turn the idea into a clear scope: the features that matter most, the ones that can wait and what the first release has to do.
We set the technical direction based on the problem, your budget and how the product needs to grow. Where there are trade-offs, we explain them in plain language so you can make the call.
You then receive a proposal with the plan, a timeline, a cost estimate and the engineer who will lead the project.
If this is a first version, we’ve written about how to scope an MVP without overbuilding, with the decisions from one of our own projects as the example.
Included in this phase
- Technical planning
- Wireframes
- Architecture decisions
- Timeline and estimate

Build
We take ownership of the implementation and build in short sprints, so you see working software every week.
Your lead engineer works with you directly and is accountable for delivery. When the work needs other skills, such as design, mobile development or infrastructure, they bring in the right people and coordinate them. Every piece of work is reviewed before it reaches you.
You can test features as they land, give feedback and change priorities along the way without derailing the project.
Included in this phase
- Short sprints
- Working software every week
- Code review
- Extra skills when needed

Deploy
Before launch we test across devices and browsers, fix what we find and make sure the product is ready for real users.
Then we launch it in the environment it’s meant to run in, handling deployment, hosting, domains and app store submission.
Once it’s live, we check that it behaves as expected in production, with real users and real data. PSC Mocklab and Speedego both went through this stage on their way to the App Store and Google Play.
Included in this phase
- Quality assurance
- Hosting and domains
- App store submission
- Production release

Continue
After launch we stabilise the product, fixing issues and improving performance as real usage shows where it needs work.
We document how the product is built and how to run it, so anyone who works on it later can pick it up.
What happens next is up to you. We can hand the product over to your own team, or keep improving and extending it under an ongoing engagement.
Included in this phase
- Stabilisation. Fixes and performance improvements once real users start using the product.
- Documentation. Clear notes on how the product is built, deployed and maintained.
- Ongoing engineering. Maintenance, updates and new features after launch, on a plan that fits your needs.
Our values
What you can expect from us
These are the principles behind every project we take on, whatever its size.
- Accountable. One team owns your project from the first call to production. You always know who is responsible and how to reach them.
- Reliable. We do what we say, when we say. You get clear timelines and honest updates, even when the news isn’t good.
- Transparent. You see the progress, the costs and the decisions. Nothing is hidden behind jargon.
- Flexible. Your needs will change as the project grows. We adapt the plan, the team and the scope with you.
- Quality-driven. Every project includes code reviews, testing and a clean architecture.
- Long-term. We build software that’s easy to maintain and grow, and we can stay on to support it after launch.
You bring the problem. We take it to production.
